Dr Kaushalya Dissanayake is an experienced General Practitioner and Lifestyle Medicine physician with over 24 years of clinical experience and a strong commitment to helping patients achieve lasting health.

She qualified as a medical doctor in Sri Lanka in 2002 and later completed the Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2011. Over many years working as a GP, she has cared for a wide range of patients and developed a special interest in women’s health, supporting women through different stages of life with compassionate and holistic care.

Through her years in general practice, Dr Dissanayake observed that the conventional healthcare model often focuses on reacting to illness and managing symptoms with medications rather than addressing the underlying causes of disease. This experience led her to pursue further training in Lifestyle Medicine and to become certified by the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM).

Dr Dissanayake is passionate about helping patients improve their health through practical, evidence-based lifestyle changes, with a focus on sustainable improvements in nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress management. Her approach centres on addressing the root causes of chronic disease, empowering patients to take control of their health and achieve long-term wellbeing.

She is also a co-founder of K2SMARTLife and regularly delivers educational programmes based on the SMARTLife pillars of health. Dr Dissanayake is fluent in English and Sinhala, enabling her to connect with and support diverse communities.
